[v- ], Annie, italienische Schriftstellerin, * London 2. 2. 1868, ✝ Turin 21. 2. 1942; Tochter eines Italieners und einer Deutschen; studierte Gesang in Italien, befreundet mit G. Carducci, der zu ihrem ersten Gedichtband (»Lirica«, 1890) das Vorwort schrieb. Einem größeren Publikum wurde sie bekannt mit im internationalen Milieu spielenden Gesellschaftsromanen. Einige ihrer Erzählungen und Theaterstücke schrieb sie zuerst in Englisch oder Französisch.
 
Weitere Werke: Romane: Marion, artista di caffè-concerto (1891; deutsch Marion, die Sängerin des Café-chantant); The devourers (englisch 1910, 1911 von ihr selbst ins Italienische übersetzt unter dem Titel I divoratori); Mea culpa (1927).
